Is China  Miéville the new Clive Barker?

There is no one since Clive Barker, in the text-only bookdom, that makes fantasy seem new again. Fresh. Ideal.

In the comic spectrum, you have Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, and even Joss Whedon and Joe Hill (who is ever bit as good in comics as his father is/was writing novels and short stories), who can take you to places undreamed or unthought of and make you wish you were a apart of their realm, if it were an actuality rather than a place of fantasy.

But in text, Barker and Miéville hold court.
