I had to comment on this one.  The ending was really funny and made me laugh.  Well done!

Patrick, you are so right. I went to read "Planetary Shift" on your recommendation, and the conclusion is indeed hilarious. The entire story is well-written, but the conclusion -- bravo!

And that is not just because I live in Pittsburgh, which tends to have an ongoing rivalry with Cleveland, calling it "The Mistake By The Lake." Not true, not true. Well, not necessarily...

Anyway, thanks for the recommendation!

How to vote?

I am completely baffled by the contest voting section. I used to be able to figure out how to vote, but now...? How can I vote for some of these outstanding entries?

So many complaints that the tally wasn't fair, (which it isn't) so I turned it off to prevent further problems.
Not the best solution but it is better than all the problems with voting on a not so fair system.
Were I a better programmer I might be able to fix it, but alas, I am not.

Ah, and alas. (About you being a less than stellar programmer -- hah! I know better.) But you are right -- I don't think there is a voting program on the Net that cannot be "fixed." Too bad.
