Unicorns Vs Zombies
Jun 03rd, 2019, 10:27am

Hello, All. People like to hear how stories came about, so here's how this one did:

Several years ago, I read an anthology called 'Unicorns Vs Zombies' by Holly Black and Justine Larbalestier. Holly chose her favorite unicorn stories to compete against Justine's zombie tales. The stories were great, but almost as fun were the intros, where the two editors debated which creature was better and leveled insults. I recommend it. However, the book has no actual zombie/unicorn battlin', so I wrote a story to remedy that.

Along the way I decided unicorns would represent retreating into daydreams and wishful thinking and zombies would represent slacking.

Anyway, let me know what you thought of it. I love feedback.

Nathan

U-v-Z has a dry sense of humor; it was great. Personally, I'd be in the "Zombie" camp if I had my way. I think you have to have a lot of money to be a zombie in this world and still eat regularly, so . . . back to work for me.
