The Place for a Good Crop by John DesPlaines

Loved it, John. There are several things that are very appealing to me. First, SF is my favorite genre, so you had me pretty much from the start. Then I really appreciate the work you've put into it. Either this is a slice of a larger project or you put a great deal of thought into developing the background story. All the details in the background hint at more and I want more! Thanks, John.

The story's well-written, but seems to me to be part of a larger project.

This could easily be part of a bigger project but I think it stands alone pretty well too.
I like the children's rhyme. It adds something- maybe a touch of authenticity. I can see the little kids playing this game.
