I just thought we could start a thread to discuss this topic..

I wrote "If I Die Before I Wake", but I just read "Those That Came After" by N.R. Allen. I liked it. It did feel like it needed more words though, 1000 wasn't enough, but it kept my attention and it would have kept me reading with a lot more words... So I say Kudos Mr. Allen.

Anyone else want to discuss any of the Stories from this current contest round?

Some topics seem to stir the imagination more than others.

Some interesting takes on the topic.

Webbie I agree. I love that people totally thought "out of the box" on this subject too...

I have noticed that I really am a fan of post apocolypitic (PA) stories. I never really noticed that before, until I recommended Swan Song to a friend. I did a search for the best PA novels written and lo-and-behold I've read most of the novels on those lists! So I guess my story sort of fell right in that line.

P.S. I am reading Swan Song again, what a GREAT book!!

This is my take on "Those That Come After": (I hope I don't spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it yet)
You read along and it's well written. I love the dialogue. Then you come to the last few lines and you think: Say WHAT???
Am I right in saying this reminds me of O. Henry?
