Interview with the Werewolf

Hi everyone, just wanted to tell you a little about my new story in the contest section. This started out as part of a D&D game I am running. This started as dialogue that the "elder" of the werewolf clan tell to the players after the players save them from some evil out cast werewolves. Well what I had originally didn't really work for a complete story, and it took place in a fantasy setting not in modern day. So I set about updating it. Well I started writing the Press guy's dialogue and really liked his "voice", so I got his introduction down and tried to piece together the "legend" part. Well I ended up with like 5000 words, so I had to set about trimming and completely changing the story (and of giving it a conclusion LOL). I this is like the 20th draft. I would have liked maybe an additional 100 words or so to make the story a tad bit tighter, BUT it's a 1000 word limit right. I know it's not perfect but I think it's fun.

hey if you get a chance check out www.starlightree.com. It's a website to support a book I am co-authoring. We are finishing up the writing process and are working on the editing, layout and proofreading phase. from there we are sending it out to agents. If that doesn't work we will self publish. It's been a fun project. If anyone has any advice please send it my way I can use all the help.

Thanks everyone and thank you anotherealm!

Ahh! The story behind the story.

20 re-writes! [chuckle]
I'll bet you learned a couple of new tricks in that time.  :)

1000 words isn't as easy as it sounds but what great practice at getting your thoughts and ideas in order.
