Okay. First of all, why did they have to get Donald Trump involved in this? I don't think I've ever heard that Donald Trump had anything to do with a sexbot.
Second, I just spent quite a bit of time trying to hack into my own computer because my computer is refusing to type the first letter used in my pass word. If you think a machine is going to be easier to get along with than a woman, you are sorrowfully mistaken. My computer never types a capital 'c' without the caps lock. Why? I don't know. I pity the poor soul who gets involved with a sexbot that locks up at an inappropriate time. I think they did a Big Bang episode about that.
Third, if my husband thinks he's going to buy a $7000 robot for that purpose, he's got another thought coming.
Fourth, is this robot going to also work a 40 hour week, pick up the kids from school, cook dinner and buy his underwear for him? Not for $7000, it won't.
If you younger women are going to put up with this, I feel sorry for you.
Then again, I've known other women to put up with some pretty stupid situations that I would never do. Look at Hillary Clinton. She put up with Bill humiliating her and she's supposed to be smart.
(Sorry, they pulled The Donald into this for no apparent reason so I felt obliged to do the same for Hillary.)

I don't think this is a real thing yet. Tech being what it is and all that. I was more interested in the fact that people are actually having the conversation.

After this article there were a bunch more along the same lines. Even one Japanese company asking owners to sign a paper saying they would not use robots for sex.

Japan does have a senior care via robot segment of economy/medical elder care. But sexy looking robots they are not. More like R2D2 with a pill bottle, a GPS and a "Help! I've fallen" button.

I was far more impressed that anyone would even have this type of conversation. Let alone take it seriously enough to spawn a slew of media coverage.

What's next? Robo-pets?

I'm sure we'll get robopets. Isn't that kind of what a Furby is? Or at least that is the path toward robopets. I would hate to think that if we ever became talented enough to create artificial intelligence that we would use it to create something so crass as a robot hooker.
