Title: The Commoner and the Queen by Barton Paul Levenson

I enjoyed the casual dialogue of the insects. It's always hard to find an insect with a good sense of humor. Now that I think about it, there were several points that seemed tongue-in-cheek. The terrorists were a bit cookie-cutter, but most terrorists are. The ending caught me a bit by surprise which is always a good ending for me. I really liked it, Barton. Bravo.

The story had many strands but the lead motif (played out by George), was love and understand our spider neighbours which came through strongly.
The research great (hexapods and exoskeletons, breathing by diffusion) a learning curve.  Then the maths Area volume and the square cube law, I got lost here and went with the author.
I found the final paragraphs about sex with a spider handled very delicately not sordid, it could be said moral and making sex spiritual which enhaned the story.
I'll always see spiders differently now.
Got to be good.
