Title: Growing Humans - by Neil John Buchanan Post by John Gilbert on Feb 1st, 2011, 5:27am This was very cute in a way that I like. The end wasn't particularly surprising, but the tree 'people' were a true delight - nice bit of imagining there. I liked it quite a bit. |
Title: Re: Growing Humans - by Neil John Buchanan Post by Matt on May 17th, 2011, 7:57am Again this was a brilliant story. Truly unique and disturbing. I fully agree with the comments made by the poster "I will never find a serial killer quite like this tree". The twin aspects of cuteness and horror is an original expereince for me and I look forward to further work from Buchanan. Cheers, Matt |
Title: Death Row by Milan Smith Post by Jeangoldstrom on May 31st, 2011, 7:32pm OUTSTANDING! This story is definitely a Class A effort by Milan Smith. Milan, thanks for a beautiful and moving story. Hope we'll see you again here in AR. -- Jean Goldstrom |
Title: Re: Growing Humans - by Neil John Buchanan Post by Gary A. Markette on Jun 3rd, 2011, 1:32am You said it, Jean! That's why I picked it for anotherealm. It's one of the best stories I've had the honor of choosing for our forum and I will be VERY disappointed if we don't get some comment about it. I honestly believe that this tale would have found print in some of the fabled "pulps' of a past publication era. So, how about it, AR? Feedback on this gem, please. Let Milan know how much you enjoyed his work and let me know that I made a good choice. |
Title: Re: Death Row - by Milan Smith Post by ahmedakhan on Jun 3rd, 2011, 6:56pm It is a good story. I would give it 3 or 3.5 stars out of 5. The reason for not giving it full 5: I found it a little too wordy. In my personal opinion, a tighter, minimalistic approach would have worked wonders. |
