Yes I know it is. Was trying to do an upgrade which turned into a downgrade.

Hi Webbie,

I'm seeing special characters in place of regular punctuation in all the contest stories. For example, instead of the quotation marks I see â€ and instead of the copyright symbol in the titles I see the code ©. Is this caused by something on my end? I just noticed it today. :-?

I hate Bill Gates, darned "smart quotes". ASCI wasn't good enough for him :(

It's a character encoding flaw.
Sadly it requires me to re-edit every story on the site to fix.
So much work is getting me to think of new ways to do the site.
It won't get fixed overnight. I'd rather think of a better way to do it than have to fix every story on the site.

Sigh...

Webbie,

I feel your pain. I just finished fighting with some autoformatting/page numbering in Microsoft Word on a desktop publishing project myself. I really don't like a program that THINKS it's improving my work for me when it decides to do it its own way instead of the way I TELL it to do it. ;)

I'm sure you'll figure out something.
